About Us

Mrak Apparel is a Slovenian brand that offers high quality hand printed clothing featuring illustrations with a hint of the obscure. All illustrations are original works and are depicted in various different techniques.

The couple behind the brand are Luka Božič and Neja Vecchiet and we are responsible for all of its illustrations and creative processes. Luka is a tattoo artist and illustrator and Neja is a graphic designer. We live and work in Slovenia, moving between Nova Gorica and the Karst region. We had the idea and a wish to create our own clothing brand for many years, but it wasn’t until the end of 2020 when we started to revive and develop it, and finally formed it. We have combined our different passions for illustration, design, handcraft and music into a brand that represents an alternative to mass-produced commercial merchandise. The final product reflects an attention to detail and quality that will enchant everyone with a slightly darker soul. We strive to constantly evolve and perfect every aspect of the user experience as well as to support local Slovenian production and subcultures.

The illustrations are depicted in different techniques, mostly by using black color on a white surface. A line and a dot as two basic visual elements are used to represent grim and grotesque motifs, for which Luka usually draws his inspiration from music, nature, mythology and occult themes. What stands out in the final product is the attention to detail that rounds up the gloomy atmosphere of the illustrations.
